Donald Bigham was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November of 1978. He joined the Pinckneyville, DuQuoin, and Nashville Illinois law firm of Hohlt, House, DeMoss, and Johnson, a predecessor to his current firm, as an associate in 1978 and became a partner in 1982. He received his bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University in 1975 and his J.D. degree from the University of Illinois, College of Law in 1978.
Don is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. He has served as a member of the ISBA Assembly representing the 20th Judicial Circuit from 1998-2004 and from 2007- 2013. He was a member of the ISBA Real Estate Law Section Council from 1985-1989. He currently serves on the ISBA Agricultural Law Section Council and was chairman of that section council during the 2015-2016 fiscal year. He is also a member of the American Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
Don serves as attorney for several municipalities and governmental districts. His current practice focuses on estate planning, will and trust administration, municipal law, and real estate matters.
Don and his wife, Gwen, reside in Pinckneyville, Illinois. His hobbies include helping on the family farm operated by his brothers Allen and Greg.
Tyson Tanner has been associated with the firm since June 2007 and became a partner in January 2011. Tyson graduated from DuQuoin High School in 2000, as co-valedictorian of his class. He then went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Southern Illinois University in May 2003, where he graduated as the valedictorian for the College of Liberal Arts.
Tyson then received his Juris Doctor Degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law in May 2006, and was admitted to the practice of law in the state of Illinois in November 2006.
Tyson is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and American Bar Association, is a member of the Board of Directors for First National Bank in Pinckneyville, and currently serves as a board member for the Perry-Jackson Child Advocacy Center and the DuQuoin Youth Club.
Matt Foster joined the firm in 2014 and was named as a partner in the firm in November 2016. Matt graduated from DuQuoin High School in 1999 and went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree in History from Mount Mercy College in May 2003.
After graduating from Mount Mercy, Matt attended Southern Illinois University School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor in May 2006. He was admitted to practice in Illinois in November 2006 and has been admitted to practice in federal court as well.
Matt is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. His areas of practice include criminal defense, including DUI, traffic and juvenile matters, as well as family and divorce matters. Since being admitted to practice in 2006, Matt has appeared in nearly every courthouse in Southern Illinois, including federal courthouses in East St. Louis and Benton.
He resides in DuQuoin with his wife and 3 children.
